Wish I could go. I like B & W Stamps, Bill's a nice guy I've purchased from before. Another dealer I like is L & C stamps. Have fun.

Actually, at Monday's club meeting a Get Well card was passed around for the owner of L&C Stamps, who apparently is in the hospital with a collapsed lung. They won't be able to attend the show.

I drove up to the show in Evansville late Friday night from Nashville, (actually, I live north of the city, close to Joelton, where Bill Vance lives), and I was going to go to Urbana tonight, just to kill some weekend time, but I kind of got lost at the casino in Evansville.. :)

So, I left Evansville after midnight, and it was just too late to get all the way up to Champaign and then back to Nashville tomorrow...maybe next year.

Good news is that I paid for my trip and $200 in purchases at the Evansville show from my 6-hour stint in the poker game!

Not a lot of dealers at the Evansville show, and frankly, it's a little crazy that both this show, Urbana, and Springfield IL, were the same weekend-- I'm sure that it reduced traffic for all three. But, nonetheless, it was a nice show. I spent a lot of time with Izzy Guterman, found a lot of common "dated reds" that I usually only buy at shows, and he had a nice supply of Proprietary Medicine stamps. I'm sure you revenue guys know Izzy-- have you bought much stuff from him in the past?

Hope the show is prosperous and busy for you guys...Ray

Yep, I bought some stuff from Izzy at INDYPEX at the end of last month. He's who I got the beat-up R40ce double impression from. Nice guy, but a bit overly optimistic on the pricing on some of his pieces, especially 1st issue cancels. I just couldn't get him down to reasonable levels on a couple of the pieces.
