It seems , on a regular basis we are asked to help identify issues of the A-25 series of stamps. In a effort to help new and old members of this board I thought this might be something that can be put to good use. Over the next few days I will be posting scans of my A-25 series stamps listed by Scott issue number and show as many different color variation has I have. I encourage others to post here as well so that we might build a strong library for all to use.
Ron

Jcstamp!
That is a nice one. You can really see the lavender (blueish) tint in it.

Thank you, and yes, I agree theseal619, that this stamp has beautiful color. The centering and light cancel make this a great example except for the couple short perfs even though short perfs are somewhat common with this variety.

This was helpful but can anyone tell me which Scott# goes with this color? Is it in the pink or brown red spectrum (is it Scott 64, 65 or 104?

Hi
Color gauge will not help
Go back and search through some of my posts and you will see a website that I posted about belonging to Jack Daley who is a real student of the shades of this issue. That would be your best bet.

Hope this helps
Ray

Pretty much anything not pinkish, unused, or has no grill is not worth much in regards to the 1860's 3 cent Washington. Another auction looking for 64a pic below, although ugly cancel, but again will update once I recieve(post above of my 64a I won for $25 from baseball card seller in 09 on ebay).
