I have five Emperor stamps that I am having trouble (and I even looked up the SCF reference threads) identifying. Cant tell if it is coarse of fine hair lines so I am having trouble with the Scott ID. The blue 10kr is stiff enough stock to maybe be a postcard, I don't know! The last stamp is of a similar type but is imperforate and I don't find a reference to any imperforates of this kind. Does anyone have the answer to this imperf dilemma. Thanks as always - Jeff

The previous discussion at this thread https://goscf.com/t/13974#13974 still left me with a lot of questions.

Postal stationery Jeff,
it was common in the early days for new collectors
to cut around the postcard image to get the "stamp"
for their collection.
Stationery wasn't appreciated as much, or could not be stuck in an album.

I'd suggest the printing ID will not apply
to "cut squares"
The thickness of the paper is the easy ID.
Oft times writing appears on the back

Thanks Rod, the blue paper is much thicker than the red on at the bottom, but I suppose that they came in varying thicknesses. No writing on the back of either. Thanks for the scans and the information will adjust thread title. - Jeff

Thinking aloud:
The only other "thickness" may indicate a
Newspaper wrapper.
A stationery catalogue is what is needed.

Thanks Rod, I also have to get one of those gauges that measure minute thicknesses. Gotta find one somewhere for a reasonable price. And you are right, one feels like it could be newpaper wrapper (the red one) and the other is thicker so could be thick stock stationery. Thanks for the ideas Rod. Nice to have the chats!
