Since year is visible on cancellation (1924), I can only think that it has been soaked to long in warm water(?).
In Michel two shades 1922/15 c: lila/lilac (first maybe) and dunkellila/darl-lilac (last maybe)

I'd suggest light damage or polyvinyl plastics.

Polyvinyl Plastics = PVC, Poly Vinyl Chloride which is the composition of some plastics that were used previously for Photograph display pages etc. Many appear to be similar to Hagnars / Vario style display pages but in the long term hurt your Stamps.
