As I was looking for some camels to post for Rod I was struck by the
designs on a few of my meager supply of Tunisian stamps.

The scenes depicting daily life in Tunisia are so whimsical
that they made me laugh.
It shows once again that stamps in themselves can be works of art.

The long definitive set was issued in 1959/61 and
most were designed by Hatem El Mekki, beautifully engraved and
printed by the State Printer, Paris.

If anyone has the rest of the set, I sure would like to see them.

In the first stamp example,
does the fish tail belong to the girl

You are on to something here,
he? is a most unusual and humourous designer,
I'll post what I have of him, poor scans from years ago
if others post better scans of these, I'll remove mine.
