Wt1, we almost had Se-tenant sorted out until your contribution - back to the drawing board again.

PS. Excellent variations wt1.

LB1,

I am jealous. Mom, Munich and Salzburg. What a great travel combination. Since your Mom is 90 we must be in the same age group. No wonder you are so smart!

I started an album with Se-tenants. Now I am chewing on Tete-Beche...
How did the French get into this?

Berlin 1972 to honor Sowetische Space exploration.
Se-tenant Block of 8 compsite design.

fifia,

Well done, you got it right

wt1 posted a couple of teasers earlier.
The Balloon block could be described as a Vertical and Horizontal Se-Tenant block of 4....I suppose.
But the Pacific '97 item is much harder to define.

Ideas anyone?

Londonbus1....hasn't a clue but is working on it.

The Pacific '97 stagecoach and ship triangles block is a plate block of four triangles, se-tenant and tete beche. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks LB1,
I am gaining confidence.

....and what is tete beche? Kopf an Kopf. Years ago a couple of babies were born which where joined with their heads.
I remember the drama of their seperation. Both survived.
I understand now. Learn something every day. Thanks.

Here is my sample for today.

Se-tenant strip of 10

We couldn't complete this thread without considering this block of 8 US Space Accomplishments stamps, making both a composite image and se-tenant stamps of different sizes, too!

fifia,

Tete-Beche [not Se-Tenant]

A pair of stamps upside down in relation to the other.

See more here:

Correction !

fifia, a strip of 10 would be single stamps, like those from Coils.
What you have is a Se-Tenant BLOCK of 10.

Never heard of that term before
Your item would be a Vertical strip to me....Se-Tenant of course !

wt1...nice Space cover and reprodution strip. I'll let you think up a term for that one !

Good answer ! I would use the same words [-Triangles] but in a different order.

I just have to figure out which order

Londonbus1.....Can't sleep

My absolute favourite example of se-tenant values, and one of my proudest possessions:

The Jammu 1867 sheet, with ½ Anna stamps in the top row and at bottom right, and the 1 Anna stamp at bottom left, in watercolour on native paper, SG 60 and 61.

And for good measure, a nice example of a [i]tête-bêche[i/] pair

from Bhopal, the 1937 1 Anna 6 Pies, with missing SERVICE overprint, SG 331b

This is so far one of my favourite Se-tenant

Thanks Lb1.

In my book, latest Land's End stamps, would be foot on foot.
I do not know the French for that...

Nice maps fifia.

Tete-Beche means Head [or top] to tail.
The French term is used generally in Philatelic terms.

Here is one of my favourite Se-Tenants...of a lovely lady.
