Computer English translation Also a 3 DM mark with the motif of Albert Einstein's had originally been planned. The executor of Einstein estate had objected to this endeavour. The Deutsche Bundespost had to therefore refrain at this situation from the output of the Einstein brand. [3] , The predicament was so regrettable as publications in the German military newspaper in polemical form had pronounced against the "Einstein-mark". It was therefore explicitly pointed out that these publications the scene change neither causes nor affected have.
This is so far all I could find. The reason is strange since there are Einstein stamps. Maybe this was only true for Germany. Well, I am going to start an Einstein thread.
If I had only known, I would have been a locksmith. Albert Einstein |

Thanks for the Einstein info, fifia. Quote: Also a 3 DM mark with the motif of Albert Einstein's had originally been planned. The executor of Einstein estate had objected to this endeavour.
The executors must have relented because in 2005 Germany issued a stamp with his image. The stamp was not for Einstein the man but for the 100th anniversary of his Theory of Relativity. |

Looking at this again, the ad says 23 Pfenning, the stamp is 25 Pfenning. This must be a typing error or some sort of a scam? Well, I do not have a 23 or 25 Pfenning. |

Quote: Huh ? What I meant was that in the middle of the Nineteenth Century before the advent of commemoratives the term definitive was not in use or needed since there was only one kind of stamp... the postage stamp. Period. |
