The Mexico Exportas are another favorite of mine. I recently cataloged my accumulation. Distinguishing the different papers can be challenging, if you choose to delve that deep. Cheers, Robert |

clifhiker, thanks for showing those Mexican Export stamps, you have a great assortment there. Is that the whole set?
The few I have show that they are very nicely printed compared to some earlier Mexican definitives.
Also the the designs are ingenious , way different from the constant depictions of rulers, buildings, flora & fauna which after awhile gets boring, boring.

Wow! I have just started collecting and have been stunned at the efforts of so many to show fantastic stamps. What a learning experience reading through this forum. Now if I could just convince my boss that staying up too late to read the whole post is acceptable. Thank you all. |

This is the 3rd set of Wildings issued in 1958. Wm 308. Sc 353-369. There are 2 types of the 2.5d red. On the left the top line goes half way across the ornament(type I). On the right the line goes all the way across(type II). |

Just for fun I've been piecing together a collection of the George VI definitives from Britain. Without even trying (I'm not a GB collector) I've almost managed the complete set. Just missing the last one, 1950 4p ultra. Amazing what you can do when you're not looking. |

Here's a set of Greece definitives from 1942-1944. Although not classified by Scott as occupation stamps, these stamps were issued during the occupation of Greece in the Second World War. Looks like they had some inflation going on at the time: the highest denomination is 5,000,000 drachmas. Cheers, Robert Edit: Fixed broken photo link. Edit 2: Re-uploaded image. |

Quote: The Machin is one of the most well-known definitve series and was designed after a Plaster cast by Sculptor Arnold Machin.
Hundreds, if not thousands of varieties of Colours,Phosphor,Gum,Printer,Perforation,Paper, value etc make it a complete study by itself. Here are a couple of pages of Great Britain 50p Machin Heads. There are more 50p varieties that I don't have. Smaller denominations that get reprinted many more times have hundreds of varieties. Robert Edit: Re-uploaded images. |

Clifhiker, I always loved that series from Portugal. Great design, interesting background, and colors that aren't often seen on definitives. |

Here is a small definitive series from Norway. The series covered the time span when luminescent coatings were added to stamps for automated canceling purposes. The first three rows are stamps printed on ordinary paper. The bottom four rows are stamps printed on luminescent paper. Robert Edit: Re-uploaded image. |
