Here is one of my favourite definitive sets. These Beautiful Austria definitives were issued between 1973 to 1983. Designed by Otto Zeiler and engraved by Werner Pfeiler. Combination printing : 1 colour photogravure , 1 colour engraved The smaller format 3S coil stamp was 2 colour photogravure. |

These are the stamps I love. Definitive sets with the same design or style. Different colours, throw in a perf variety and maybe an overprint, great. |

Dianne and alanl I totally agree with you. There are so many things about definitives that make them so much more interesting than the average commemoratives. When defins are constantly being reprinted over many years there are also slight colour differences which I find fun collecting. Like these here below from the Austrian Building series issued between 1957/1970 There are also hundreds of flyspeck type of plate errors which would probably interest you alanl, maybe even wert. Page above was copied from the Austria Netto Katalog |

I am on telephone and the Photobucket pictures always cut off in their loading because I do not have a fast high bandwidth. These above are not even showing. I have to load the page over and over again til the whole picture is in my cache. Sometimes never. Ah well. |

I'm not a Photobucket user, so I'm not sure why they do not show up in these posts. If you copy the URL associated with the image and paste the URL into another browser window, a page with the requested image will display. The problem is not with bandwidth or speed; it appears to be a Photobucket restriction. |

I'm halfway in reading the topic, so they could have been already posted but... Some definitives from Italy Michelangiolesca (1961), dedicated to the work of Michelangelo Buonarroti and Cappella Sistina One of my favourites, the three engraved high values are especially beautiful! |

Siracusana , aka the Italian Machin Issued in 1953, this series occupied a life span of over thirty years (last stamps were printed in the first 80's, the series expired in 1988) but even now in 2014 it's not uncommon to see it used illegally A true, monothematic, simple-colored definitive! |

Man, I love those older Norway definitives. Especially the "knot" stamps. Simple and fantastic. |

MaryMonty, welcome to Stamp Community!
It's great to finally see the Italian definitives here, thanks for showing them.
I remember collecting them years ago when I started in the 80's. |

I'm housing them in the albums these days, I'll post other series! Sadly enough, the actual Italian definitives are pretty horrible... |

Mary Monty - That is one of my main definitive collections .. I have some neat used copies on envelopes. I am trying to make sure I have everything divided properly by years, but sometimes I struggle with the watermarks. Thanks for sharing! |
