This won't come as much of a surprise, but the "Bluenose", #158, is one of my favorites. It is also regarded as one of the most beautiful stamps from Canada, if not the world. The stamp pictured is one I picked up at auction a few months ago. |

Have to say bluenose is one of the top and also the 5-10-15-20 cent from the quebec tercentenary are great engravings. |

We get three? I'm tempted to say, "Bluenose, Bluenose and Bluenose." (Beautiful Bluenose, Rileysan.) How about some less-traditional offerings: (Apologies if Newfoundland doesn't count as Canadian...not sure about those north-of-the-border sensibilities.) |

KGV definitives combined with some of the most attractive commemoratives of the 20th century (actual set) makes for a unique combination that somehow works well together. Did Canada put out a bad stamp during the classic era? I think not! |

Actually, don't mean to be picky, but Newfoundland became a province on March 31, 1949. And I just found out at stamp club last week that the stamps of Newfoundland, and all the former provinces, are still legal for use on mail in Canada. So, my fellow Canadians, if you just HAVE to mail that birthday card to your girlfriend/wife/mother, and you find yourself 5c short, you can go ahead and use that mint 1865 Vancouver Island 5c rose, catalogue value $45,000, and the Man can't stop you! |

IMHO this is Canada's most handsome stamp. What else did you expect me to say? This guy has been with me for many years. |

Ok I guess if I'm going to get smart, I should pick some stamps. As usual I go for the classics. The 1898 Xmas stamp is one of my all time favourites. This 1933 Parliament Buildings is quite grand I think. and if I'm going to pick a province, the Newfoundland cod fish. |

Quote: the stamps of Newfoundland, and all the former provinces, are still legal for use on mail in Canada. Not quite true. Only if they are in the current currency (cents and dollars) and not if in pence and shillings and pounds are they legal for use. Also no airmail or special delivery or other special stamps are legal, although they may sneak through. So that is from 1859 onwards as the currency has not been demonetized. As to stamps, personifies identity is the red maple leaf wgich is on so many stamps, and handsome is the Bluenose of course! |

True, Puzzler. A fact I should have included. Your three pence beavers and seven and a half p. packets will be returned. |
