On March 7, 2019 Ireland issued a se-tenant pair of stamps honoring the Irish Coast Guard. One of these stamps shows a speedboat of the Irish Coast Guard on patrol. From the An Post website, "The stamps were based on a painting by the late Caitriona Lucas, a volunteer with the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard, who, sadly, died while on duty on September 12, 1916."  |
