In Sunday's local stamp club auction, I must have scratched my nose or something and ended up with this two items, and I don't even collect South America. Can someone identify them for me please? ... and what value they may have?

These are imperforate varieties (mentioned in Scott, but not assigned catalog numbers):

Nicaragua #24(1890)
El Salvador #147(1896, watermarked) or 157C(1896, unwatermarked)

That's there to throw you off, since Nicaragua and El Salvador are part of North America.

In the UK these countries would usually be described as being in "Central America".

They are considered Central America here as well. But in the US, Central America is not recognized as a separate continent. The border between Panama and Colombia is considered the division between the continents of North America and South America.

Not sure if the continent definitions are the same in Europe, Asia, Australia...

These are from the Seebeck era of both countries, so we are not supposed to like them, but shenanigans in issuing and reprinting aside, they sure are pretty.
