This series of stamps honoring Martin Guemes or Juan Martin Guemes as he is named on one of the stamps stradles both the pre 1940 and post 1940 topics...Guemes was born in February 1785 to a noble and wealthy family...he joinned the army at an early age and was a brilliant military leader and patriot...if you are interested its much easier to Google his story than for me to do the lengthy typing !
