Uday Shankar (1900-1977) was a world renowned Indian dancer and choreographer, and the pioneer of modern dance in India. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Uday Shankar dancing, printed by photogravure, and issued by India on September 26, 1978 to commemorate Shankar's life, Scott No. 807, plus photo of him posing with a female dancer, and a link to a YouTube video featuring four female dancers performing one of Shankar's dances.
