Dated 4 March, 1927, two imperf Taxe (postage due) 15 ct stamps canceled 'St Pierre et Miquelon' over a circular 'T / N.Y.(?!)) (taxe) marking and a '15 centimes / A' circular marking, on piece.

Is this New York that the possible N.Y. stands for? And what does the A in the second circle stand for?
(Too bad there is not the whole envelope to see.)

That's a "verly interesting" assemblage as a famous tv personality used to say. St. Pierre et Miquelon have always interested me and I hope to get there one day.

Nice. Those are French postage due stamps issued 1894, Scott #J31.
St. Pierre & Miquelon is France's last colony in the North America. In the late nineteenth century early 20th French stamps were used, often overprinted. The first stamps for St. P&M weren't issued until 1909.
