Is there a good album for postage stamps of Ireland that has descriptions for all the stamps in it? Hingeless would be cool too.

Hi apastuszak,
I have not found one, but living in Ireland there are very few stockists, so not much choice.
Some years ago, I settled on Davo luxe albums, expensive but hingeless, just a B&W image of stamps, buit no real info per stamp. Four albums to date to cover all stamps since 1922.
Hope this helps |

I prefer to print my own pages too. I have done this for years now.
I can arrange them in the way I prefer and not at the mercy of those album producers that print some pages for one stamp and leave the rest blank <G>

I guess if I can't get page with nice descriptions on them, I might as well just buy the Steiner pages and use those. Since my wife is 1st generation Irish, I thought it would be cool to put together am Ireland collection and present it to her as a gift. |

I looked around and ended up using White Ace pages. I also have an old Lighthouse album that I bought with some stamps that is hingeless, but has no written descriptions. No longer use this - I think its coverage ends in the 1970's.
White Ace: + very good descriptions for commemoratives = OK descriptions for definitives - Not hingeless - need to use mounts or hinges - A handful Scott numbers missing - it is a "simplified" set of pages, so you will have to make your own pages for some definitives and postage dues
I'll scan a page or two later tonight if you are interested, apastuszak. |

Here is one page with a detail. These pages give good information that really helped me learn about important Irish people, events, places. |

I used to use White Ace US albums. Great albums. I moved away from them because of price. I took a 10 year break from the hobby to have kids (what the hell was I thinking!)
Very nice Ireland pages. We may have a winner here!
What the volume of new issues Ireland produces every year? Is it insane like the US? Are they self adhesive, or gummed? |

apastuszak,
I gave up on the new issues of Ireland about the same time you did.
Just could not keep up - seemed like every year there were more minisheets, a whole new definitive series every 7 or 8 years + the huge (to me) cost of supplements to the White Ace Albums didn't help. Bet it's not as many as US, but closing the gap for sure.
Also didn't really like what the Irish PO did when I accidentally forgot to change my credit card details for my standing order - they just kept entering the same number, trying different expiration dates hoping to find the new date. That got my card suspended while I was out shopping....grrrrr.
I know they now do some self-stick issues, maybe just definitives?
Good luck & have fun!

I think the last years where around 60 EUR or so as nominal value. Selling value is under that for sure, that discouraged me of buying the new stamps from Ireland (around 40% of NV). If you need I can give you some full year quotation prices from Michel. |

I just broken down and bought a subscription to stampalbums.com Seemed like the cheapest road to go for an Irish stamp album. And for $30, I get the so much more than Ireland, if I choose to expand my collection. |

I have seen some of the White Ace pages over the years and was trying to get my hands on them (couldn't find them anywhere at the time) and ended up with Davo. Given the chance again, I would ave gone with them just for the descriptions that they offer.
On Ireland stamp issues, the cost is normally around €50-€70 including booklets & minisheets, but its hard to predict what exactly the album pages will have space for when they are issued (I can only comment on Davo) as I have ended up with a number of booklets and xmas sheets that don't have album spaces. |

That's where Steiner may help me out. I can just make my own letter sized sheets and insert them as needed. |
