Hello All. I thought about posting this one in the general area since I really was not looking too much at the stamps here, but they are WW so I went here to be safe. This is a block print, which I have quite a few of, or I should say the wife has quite a few of. This is one of the simpler ones I have as far as colors go, but even with that the process here was not all that simple.

What I find interesting is that I bought this with a few others probably 15 years ago and had them professionally framed (hence why the pictures are not all that great going through the glass)at this time I had no idea I would be collecting stamps in the here and now. As a matter of fact I did not even realize there were stamps hanging on my wall until about a month ago. So unknowingly I combined my wife's (which is much more expensive) collecting of oriental items with a future stamping collection of my own.

I included some pictures and some information as well.

You can visit here to read about Bunkio Matsuki who opened the first ever Japanese Store in Boston, Mass: http://wiki.samurai-archives.com/in...nkio_Matsuki

You can visit here to learn quite a bit on the block print art which I absolutely love, especially the older ones with full colors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukiyo-e

Now I wish I had that calendar. I would love to see other block prints if anyone has any. I'll try to post a few more later on today. Thanks for looking.
