Manila cover from Toronto, Ont. to Woodstock, NB (I think) with a horizontal pair of Unitrade (Scott) #25i 3c Orange Red Large Queens. Scans provided by a fellow collector.

Does the extra perf hole remainders help confirm the possibility of the stamps being thick paper #25iii (blotting paper) or no?

The Queen is ready.
perhaps referring to the stamp colour

The Queen is Ruddy?

Ruddy : of or having a fresh, healthy red color: a ruddy complexion.

Thanks Rod. Perhaps a reference of some sort to legal addresses of the time in Canada?

Envelope addressed to Barristers so 'The Queen is Ready' perhaps meaning that in a certain legal matter the Queen's xounsel or legal advisors acting for the crown were ready to proceed in the case?

U am guessing obviously.

Nice cover Puzzler. The paper DOES look thicker than normal but I have never seen the blotting paper variety to compare with.

To me the script says "The Queen is Muddy"

Perhaps it was added after the cover was received and refers to the cancel covering her.

I have had an email from the collector who owns this and he thinks it is
'The Queen (court) vs (versus) Ruddy (or Nuddy) (or Rudde) (or similar)'
referring to a case before the courts at the time.
