There are a few varieties on this stamp (one of my favorites) and if not mistaken it is the scar face variety (cheek of sailor sitting or kneeling down) However the line your reffering to looks to be a plate crack or scratch . Not sure if its a listed variety - other causes may be as simple as a hair on the plate so it may not be constant. My older unitrade also states about a burr variety . Reading more the scar face variety has a plate position that wouldn't be consistant with your imperf edge. Interesting and maybe someone else can shed better light. If someone has a confirmed scarface variety a comparison scan would be great.
CDNum, here is a scan of my copy of 208 with the scarface variety. (it is one of my favorite, being VF and NH) I also include a scan of its brother in my Canada's album. a pair showing the center Gutter (less than 500 panes )
