I try to found information about this cancel (or precancel). I think it is a Bank of Canada cancel. Mayb e someone have more information about that.

Probably C.B. of C., the Canadian Bank of Commerce.

The cancel is a revenue use cancel proving that the stamp has paid the fiscal fee for something that the bank handled. A cheque perhaps or document? Not sure completely.

There are some cheques pictures on SCF, search for the complete phrase 'bank of commerce', but no stamps on them.

Hi Puzzler,

Maybe the first letter is a R for Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). I will try to find more information on that.
