Hello

Have recently bought a box of stamps of someone and am just going through my stamp book and sticking them in however I have no idea where this one is from! Please help!

If you know how much it is worth - that would be great however I am not selling stamps...

Thanks!

Hello Kuldeep, welcome to SCF!

This is a stamp from the Papal States, the part of Italy controlled by the Pope before Italian unification. This one was issued in 1868 and I'm afraid is worth very little because it's in poor condition.

The design shows the keys of St Peter and the top of the stamp is facing to the left in your picture.

The design should look like this,
however mine was produced in Bob's garden shed.

I believe "Franco Bollo" means postage due. Is that correct?

In Italian, postage due is "segnatasse".
