Latvia #1 issued Dec. 18, 1918........during WW1 everything was in short supply, including paper. So these were printed on the back of old German maps. Don't you love the margins ?

Wonderful stamp on the back of the map. I too would love an insight into some of the areas you use to purchase from.

Great post Tom. That is as good as a 95% graded stamp.

I've been looking at some "map covers" on ebay but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

If I am not mistaken I saw whole sheets of these stamps on Mystic Stamps web site for well over $200. Very nice find indeed.
