I appreciate your comments. Collecting souvenir covers is interesting. People went to a lot of effort to create these covers because they were celebrating an important event in their lives. Artifacts such as the Shand dam cover tell us a great deal about our past.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the dam on the Mellègue wadi, located about seven kilometers west of the city of Nebeur (Kef), designed by M. Besson, engraved by Charles Mazelin, and issued for use in Tunisia on September 1, 1949, Scott No. 207, plus a reverse-angle photo of the dam under construction in 1954. Note: Construction of this dam began in 1949, and it was completed in 1956.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting an aerial view of the Kulekhani-1 Hydroelectric Power Station and its reservoir, printed by lithography, and issued by Nepal on December 2, 1982 to commemorate the commissioning of the station in that year, Scott No. 406.

Dam on the Yaté River, airmail stamp designed and engraved by Claude Durrens, and issued for use in New Caledonia on September 21, 1959 to commemorate the inauguration of the dam, Scott No. C28, plus a photo of the dam from the reverse angle.

Usina Hidrelétrica de Marmelos was the first major hydroelectric plant in South America, opened in 1889 in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the plant and the dam, designed by Alvaro A. Martins, printed by lithography, and issued by Brazil on September 5, 1989 to commemorate the plant's centenary, Scott No. 2204, plus a photo of the plant.

Warsak Dam is a mass concrete gravity dam located on the Kabul River approximately 20 km northwest of the city of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Warsak Dam, engraved and printed by Pakistan Security Printing Corp., Ltd., and issued by Pakistan on July 1, 1961 to commemorate the completion of the first phase of the Warsak Dam Hydropower Project, Scott No. 150.
