Inauguration of the Sariyar Dam
December 2, 1956

Sariyar Dam is a concrete gravity dam. It is 2 kilometres west of the town of Sariyar and is 125 kilometres west of the city of Ankara. The power station has four 40 MW turbines.

EUROPA –Haute Sure Natural Park
May 17, 1999

The Haute Sure Natural Park is a national park located in the Oesling region. At the heart of the park is the Haute Sure Lake created by the Esch-sur-Sure Dam. The 50 m-high concrete arch dam was operational since 1957, and its two 5.5 MW turbines were commissioned in 1963.

The 100th Anniversary of the Aswan Dam
August 15, 2002

The Aswan Dam is an embankment dam built across the Nile at Aswan, Egypt between 1898 and 1902, and the High Dam was constructed between 1960 and 1970.

Technical Achievements - Donzere-Mondragon Dam
October 6, 1956

The Donzère-Mondragon Dam is a gravity dam at the southern end of the Donzère-Mondragon canal. Its hydroelectric power station was commissioned in 1952. It was registered as a historic monument in France in 1992.

This pair of stamps mark the beginning of the construction of Aswan High Dam. The unique design consists one word-only stamp (10M) explaining the benefit of the project and one stamp (35M) showing an architectural rendition of the new dam.

Inga Dam First Phase
November 27, 1972
The Inga Dams are two hydroelectric dams connected to one of the largest waterfalls in the world, Inga Falls. They are located 224 kilometers southwest of Kinshasa where the Congo River drops 96 meters. This set of three stamps mark the completion of the first phase of the project. The second phase of the project was completed in 1982.

Rappbodetalsperre (Rappbode Dam)
January 21, 1986
The Rappbode Dam is the largest dam in the Harz region as well as the highest dam in Germany. It is a gravity dam with a height of 106 meters and a length of 415 meters. The construction was completed in 1959.

Dam of the Vesdre is a curved gravity dam completed in 1950. It was designed for hydroelectricity and freshwater supply to the Eupen and Liege areas. The reservoir, Lake Eupen, is open for sailing.

Major Engineering Projects: El Cajon Dam
December 28, 2007

The El Cajón Dam is a rock-filled concrete face dam on the Río Grande de Santiago in the Mexican state of Nayarit. Construction began in 2003 and was completed in June 2007. It is 640 meters long and 178 meters high. The hydroelectric power station is equipped with two 375 MW turbines.

Wow - I'll be dam(ned)...that's a lot of impressing dams - and beautiful stamps. My father should have seen this thread, as he was involved in several huge dam projects worldwide, including 5 years living in Pakistan on the Mangla Dam - Hindus River project.

I remember when he teased me into stamp collecting as a kid, he was very proud of this stamp:

Renewable Energy - Roxburgh Dam, Central Otago
July 5, 2006
The Roxburgh Dam is the earliest of the large hydroelectric projects in the southern South Island of New Zealand. It is a concrete gravity dam with eight 40 MW turbines. The power station was commissioned over the period 1956-1962.

Water Conservation in the Desert
November 25, 1980
The Von Bach Dam is a rock-fill embankment dam on the Swakop River near Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. It was built in 1968 and commissioned in 1970.
Swakoppoort Dam is a dam 50 kilometres outside of Okahandja, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia. It was completed in 1978.
The Naute Dam is a dam outside of Keetmanshoop in the Karas Region of Namibia. It was built between 1970–1972 and was commissioned in 1972.
Hardap Dam is a dam close to Mariental, Hardap Region, Namibia. It was built in 1962.

When I found another stamp for this thread, I was so happy!
