I do not collect FDCs. This FDC was not collected. It was, however, acquired & retained.

There is no dam in these dam stamps but, without their appurtenances, what dam would be worth, well ...

The Ilha Solteira Dam is an embankment dam on the Paraná River near Ilha Solteira in São Paulo, Brazil. It was constructed between 1967 and 1973 for hydroelectric power production, flood control and navigation.

Sennar Dam
October 1, 1962

The Sennar Dam is a dam on the Blue Nile near the town of Sennar, Sudan. It was built during the 1920s by the British. The dam is 3025 meters long with a maximum height of 40 meters. It provides water for crop irrigation in the Al Jazirah region.

Centenary of the Möhne Hydro Dam
April 4, 2013
Mohne dam was built between 1908 and 1913 to help control floods, regulate water levels on the Ruhr river downstream, and generate hydropower. Today, the lake is also a tourist attraction.

The Edea Power Station is a hydroelectric power plant of the Sanaga River in Cameroon. Its capacity of 204 megawatts provides electricity for the aluminum plant and other industries in the area.

A World Bank loan was applied to the construction of the Guaybao dam and the 30000 kW Rio Lempa hydroelectric power station. The project greatly benefit the light industry of the country.

Al Massira Dam

The Al Massira Dam is a gravity dam on the Oum Er-Rbia River in Settat Province, Morocco. Completed in 1979, the dam provides water for the irrigation of farmland in the Doukkala region. The hydroelectric power station (two 64 MW turbines) was commissioned in 1980.

Completion of the Sefid-Rud Dam
May 19, 1962
Sefid-Rud Dam is a buttress dam near Manjil in Gilan Province, Iran. It is 106 m in height and 425 m in length. It was constructed to store water for irrigation and produce hydroelectric power. The power station has an installed capacity of 87 MW.

Parcel Post - Mareges Dam
July 1, 1944
The Marèges Dam is a concrete arch dam on the Dordogne River. It was constructed between 1932 and 1935 by the Railway Company du Midi. Its primary purpose is the generation of hydroelectricity. The power station has one 122 MW turbine and four 37.5 MW turbines.

The Sao Simao Dam is an embankment dam on the Paranaiba River near Sao Simao in Brazil. It was constructed for hydroelectric power production and flood control. The dam was completed in 1978 and all generators were operational by 1979. The power station has six 285 MW turbines.

The Bin el Ouidane Dam is an arch dam located 28 kilometres (17 mi) south of Beni Mellal on the El Abid River in Azilal Province, Morocco. Designed by Coyne et Bellier and constructed between 1949 and 1953, the purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production and irrigation. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Bin el Ouidane Dam, designed by Alexandre Delpy, engraved by Claude Hertenberger (1912-2002), and issued for use in French Morocco on November 3, 1953 to commemorate the dam's completion, Scott No. 290, plus a photo of the dam.

The Argaka – Makounta Water Dam is located at 5 kilometers east of Polis on the far west of Cyprus. This water dam covers the irrigational needs of Argaka. It is a 41-meter-high dam built in 1964 which has a capacity of 990 thousand cubic meters of water.

Kozjak Dam
October 25, 2005
Kozjak Dam, an embankment dam with a height of 130 m, is on the river Treska in the municipality of Makedonski Brod. The Kozjak Lake is 32 km long with maximum depth of 130 m. The primary purpose of the dam is flood control and power generation.
The construction of the dam was completed in 2000. The Kozjak Hydro Power Plant, with two 41 MW Francis-type turbines, was operational in September 2004.
