Can anyone give me the information on this stamp? Where it is from and who is on the stamp? I have a couple dozen whit different matkings and colors, with same person on all of them.
Thanks Big Ed

It's early. I didn't look at the bad spelling until it was too late, sorry.

'Morning Big Ed
That looks to be a China from 1941 with a surcharge. SC#649 $50 on 21c.
The gentleman pictured is Chu Chih-hsin
This stamp first appeared as an 8c orange brown and 13c blue green in the 1932-34 martyr series.

I should clarify Big Ed. There could be two possibilities for catalogue numbers, depending on if the stamp is watermarked or not. If it has a watermark #261, it will be the above mentioned 649. But if the stamp has no watermark it will be SC#657.
Also, there is huge list of surcharges and overprints for this stamp, so you are best to get a catalogue and go through them yourself, just to be certain. I've been know to be too quick off the mark with these before.

Biged239, these are the characters for 'Republic of China', although you'll often find them in reverse order

and occasionally in different fonts as well. These will identify Chinese stamps issued between 1910 and 1949, including stamps issued for and in the Japanese-occupied areas of China.

Sorry I can't give you a Scott number for this stamp, but it was part of the January 1946, Chinese National Currency (CNC) surcharges.
