I'm quite puzzled by this little thing. It was in a large batch I recently acquired, but after sorting everything by country this to me rather mysterious stamp/cinderella/whatnot is left. Never saw such an item before. Since there is nothing to judge scale in this rather poor picture; size is appr. 20mms on each side. Can anyone tell me what this is?

I don't know what it is but it describes itself quite well as its sides are angled at 45 degrees. |

I'm sorry, but its sides are angled at 90 degrees, unless British angle measure is different from the continental Europe one... |

Mayby a cut out ? whats with the 45 something in the middle. My gut feeling says that this is not a stamp. I might very well also b wrong. I have never seen anything like that one before.. |

The design has an Austrian look about it but I sort of agree it does not look like a stamp to me. Possibly a box label? Strange item! |

Hmm, well at least I'm not the only one who doesn't have a clue with this one... Thanks for the efforts, guess this will go in the 'unknown' section of my collection... |

I have no clue about this item either.
I was just wondering if it might have something to do with a label that was intended to be affixed to boxes of refrigerated foods advising of the recommended temperature they need to be stored at. Just a guess... |

Hmmmm, maybe it comes from a bottle: 45% alcohol. It could be anything, maybe rum(?). Plum brandy made in our willage has 52% (and it seems to be a standard in the whole region...huhhh...but in wintertime it`s not that bad) |

Quote: What about 45°Oechsle?! Makes your lips pucker, just thinking about it...that would be one dry wine. I'm trying to imagine how it would be used... |
