Nice link apastuszak. I liked The Tryzub Ukrainian Stamp Album pages, you did a great job. How are you doing them? On my collection I have a few countries I can see will be expanding, and I have been trying my hand with my Russian collection. Which is on hold for the moment, so many ways to go so it is ABC for me. But I will be back to in again. And I do like how you did yours any hints? |

I am using an open source desktop publishing program called Scribus ( http://www.scribus.net) to layout the pages. I really should post the Scribus files so others can work off my layout. If my kids behave, I'll post the original Scribus files tonight. |

Do you know if it is possible to download the documentation for Scribus? .. or is just available online?

I think it's just available online. The only reason I use Scribus is because it's completely free and runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. MS Publisher or Apple Pages can do just as capable a job as Scribus. |

I love my MAC and I have pages. How do you get the fancy borders other than then plain 90o angle, or the other inserts as one did in apple works? |

Not sure. Pages doesn't do page borders. You have to drop guides and then draw a box. My wife uses the Mac mostly, so I had to give up on Pages. Couldn't get enough time with the Mac to do anything useful. |

Those are nice pages. Makes me wish I had put some graphics on the top of my Ukraine pages. |

I have seen from plain boxes, to pages that need to be framed as a work of art, and everywhere in between. I guess stamp collecting is the same all the was through it. People collect only this country and that country, this theme or that theme, etc etc. It is all personnel and all is right. What I have shown you for my Russian pages, well till I start putting stamps on them are subject to change. How far are you with your pages? There is no way you could modify them? Or there is always the next country to change you format. I am still new at this, I guess I will always be new at it due to so much to learn, and mostly to enjoy. I may sound like I keep repeating my self but this journey has been great, great looking stamps and great people from all over the world. So if any one has an opinion on album pages out there lets hear and see what you all have done! Sorry there are times I just can't shut my, well my typing fingers. |

Well, I have designed pages through 1998. I have only mounted 1992, so there is plenty of room for change. |

Great, That is a fear I have, is after a large amount of stamps are mounted and bam I see a different way. That is why I am taking my time and would greatly appreciate any and all input for my world collection. As I go through my world I will keep you up dated on any designs I come up with, which is all subject to change of course. It really is a growing experience. |

They say people remount on average every 10 years.
I started out on my US collection with the Scott Minuteman album. I ended up moving to a White Ace album, and then abandoned my collection for 10 years (buying a house and having kids will do that to you).
So, here we are 10 years later with a mortgage, 2 Catholic school tuitions and other expenses. I simply can't afford to buy all the White Ace stuff any more. It's gorgeous but very pricey. So, I bought the Mystic Heirloom and am off remounting.
Considering all redesign I am doing for the Mystic, I am pretty heavily invested in it. I don't expect to be switching albums again, but you never know. |

I know never say never, but I do hope to do it once. I know wake up and smell the coffee. But I can only hope. But money is also tight here, so I completely understand. |
