Here are images of a couple of birdies who flew in from Switzerland. Both semi-postal stamps were designed by Swiss artist Walter Wehinger (1911-1988) and printed by photogravure.

Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator), issued on November 28, 1968, and postmarked in Zurich in 1969, Scott No. B380.

Golden Oriole (Oriolus oriolus), issued on December 1, 1969, and postmarked in Basel in 1970, Scott No. B387.

Nice to see this one come home to roost occasionally.
Here's a 1952 Canada Goose postmarked in London Ontario (which happens to be where my wife and both my daughters were born, not at the same time of course).

From Australia Fair Post Office in Southport on the Gold Coast, Queensland---
a flock on penguins..no, no its not a flock. It might be a huddle of penguins..does anyone know?

Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor) the smallest species of all penguins, grows to about 13 inches high.

Hello Akeela,
I am sad yours did not arrive also. Sometimes we have temporaru postal delivery people who mix up the mail going to different apartsments here.

No problems though. It's the thought. Glad mine reached you safely. I do wish we had a circular cancellation here.
