I am moving some of my albums into a cheaper format and while doing so found out the differences in pricing of some things from one country to another is very confusing.

So here's my question: How much does it cost to print (photocopy) one page in your own country. I don't mean to ask the price of a photocopied page in a fancy printing house; just the price for an ordinary photocopy - the one that we all use to have a hard copy for our bills and such.

Any comment and info will be much apreciated....

I think here it is 15cents a copy unless you are doing multiples. I haven't gone in a while so I'm not sure. I have a laser printer and a scanner so I make my own at home. My boss also lets me photocopy at work if I bring my own paper.

There's no such thing as a COPIER -- there are only laser printers

And they are getting less expensive every day -- in the States, you can get one for a couple hundred dollars. But remember one important caveat -- inexpensive printers use more toner and supplies. Pay more for your printer and you'll pay less for supplies in the long run.

Dianne - thank you for your response. It's exactly what I wanted to know and would be grateful for any info from other countries' members as well.

Kirk - thanks for the info. I was referring to the cost when photocopying in a shop rather than at home. I totally agree with you the cost of home printing is the toner and not the actual printer.

In the UK I think its about 15p-20p for an ordinary black-and-white copy.

Many thanks Stampgal.

It seems prices do differ. In Israel it about 9 pence (13-14 US cents).

I wonder how much it is in the US and on continental Europe.....

If you want to pop into one of the convenience copy centers here in the U.S., you can expect to pay around eight cents per page. That gets you basic, white paper.

As with all things in the printing business, upping the numbers lowers the per-unit cost. So does calling around for quotes.

At Kinko's (Fedex now) its:

US$0.08 1-100, then drops to US$0.06 for 1000+ B&W pages; unless you have a corporate account which may give you 50% discount or so.

Cardstock printing is US$0.20 down to US$0.18 for 1000+ pages.

Color printing in 20lb paper is US$0.89.

In the Co-op supermarket near me they charge 6p per copy.

I think Stampgal must frequent Harrods or some very upmarket place if they charged 15-20p
