Frankly I find the Diamond Jubilee issues of both the UK and Canada somewhat disappointing because they rely sooooo heavily on existing designs, ie. old stamps and currency. They're really not very original, to my way of thinking. It's not as if they didn't have time to prepare for this. Sixty years!!

I agree with jamesw but I would put it much more bluntly.
However, it's a family forum and Royal Mail are most likely no longer interested in my adverse opinions about their products.

Suffice to say, another opportunity gone...sadly like so many others.

Where is David Gentleman when you need him?

Londonbus1.....Yuck ! [Oops,sorry]

I'm not normally a fan but the minisheet is quite nice in the flesh.
I would have preferred a larger format intaglio print for the 'note' se-tenant pair but a few more Machins is never a bad thing.

I feel to have introduced new designs would have been to miss the point of the jubilee.
That being a celebration of sixty glorious years of fabulous stamp design in England

Roos,
Do you want me to see if the local P.O. still has one?
