ridiculous prices - there have been a few South Sudan items listed over the last few months and they have been bid in to the $100s - they are scarce at the moment but I think more and more will eventually come on to the market

My father in law is currently working over in South Sudan, from recent conversations with him it seems like the country is still in unrest, perhaps even near a war breaking again. What would this change in the stamp side of things anything or nothing? I can get these stamps quite regularly will this change?

what I heard / read in the net: A set of 3 stamps were issued, and the stamp not depicted here, has controversial flag design, so withdrawn from circulation shortly, and hence the huge steep in price.

also, all the stamps were printed by China and given to South Sudan FREE of cost, as gift.

can anyone help me to get an envelope sent from there?

Hi Folks, I'm new here and just recently found this thread. I've seen a couple of ebay postings for the "elusive" 2.5 SSP unissued error stamp (coat of arms facing the wrong side). I'm wondering what the story is with this stamp now that the philatelic community has had ~10 years of experience. Is this just a flash in the pan, perhaps even an "error" for marketing purposes? Or is this a real collectible similar to other true errors in the past?

A quick Google search found a Linn's article from 2018 suggesting it might be worth low-to-mid-$100 for taking a chance that this stamp could become significant. The ebay prices are 2-3X that now. I'm curious how are South Sudan stamps viewed in the world of philately these days.
