I have found SC 1466 untagged with no mention of this in my 2011 unitrade. The catalogue says GT4 but nothing on this one. Too bad the stamp is damaged. Please anyone let me know if I have found something unreported or just a regular stamp.

The Unitrade catalogue does not say that Scott 1466 is "GT4". It simply says that they are "Tagged" with a footnote saying the tagging is around the edge of the white background.
The tagging is really a 4-bar inset as illutrated on page 24.
Are you able to produce a photo under a UV light to show this? |

Right Studystamps . Its not GT4 but around the edge of the back ground. I have a dozen or so of these with only one showing no flourescense .Like earlier mentioned the stamp is slightly damaged .I am new to this forum and not sure how to photo this stamp and display here. |

Welcome Carey,
Mine are all tagged! As you state that it is quite damaged, then possibly it was discarded by the printing company and was taken from a trash bin and made it out into the world! |

Hi Carey, welcome! What does the back look like under UV? I was wondering if the stamp is used and has been soaked too long or multiple times. This will weaken the fluorescing to varying degrees. perhaps what you have is just this? Perhaps you have the real McCoy. To photograph the stamp you must set up your stamp and UV (in the dark probably) so that you can see the UV, say on one stamp next to this stamp that does show tagging. Then, when you can see it (or not) take a photo with the close up or macro feature on (probably), get the photo in your computer, reduce it using either your own software or the reducing software of this forum. To post you use the Reply to Topic option at the top or bottom, Not the Quick Reply. This will let you add a photo or scan in .jpg format, no funny characters, no spaces in gilename, under 100kb in size. |

HI Puzzler. Thanks for the info . I uploaded the photo as you suggested and it was successful but I dont see my photo here. The photo wasnt bad and showed the tagging real well on the stamp on the left with no tagging at all on the stamp on the right. I used the software in this forum and worked real well but not sure where the photo is. As you can tell I am not real computer literate lol. |

Hmmm. Sometimes, when you have more than one tab open, your post goes into the second opened window's SCF thread. Or, what were you looking at, which thread that is, before you uploaded the photo?
Or, try again, close all other open SCF tabs (if you have tabs open that is) (or windows), upload again, click the preview botton on bottom to make sure, and then Post New Reply. |

Ok so here is the photo of SC 1466. Clearly one is tagged and one is not. The untagged one is slightly damaged in upper right corner. Is it possible that the flourecence has worn off through multiple soakings or some other process? Sorry I couldnt get it scanned yesterday but just wasnt gonna happen . Any input on this? |

That's nice. You could go to www.adminware.ca and the philatelic part and zend that pic in an email to Robin Harris or whoever it is that looks after the tagging database so the info can be added. A pic of the back would be good also, probably with a another stamp face up and these two face down and the UV ON so one could see that the back doesn't have any also. Details details. |

Even a soaked stamp would still have some residue left that would show under a strong UV, which you seem to have. |
