Another find at today's Old Book and Paper Show.
A cover postmarked June 6 1929, celebrating Westinghouse Airport Lighting Equipment. The Stamp, Canada #C1 has CWC (Canadian Westinghouse Company Ltd) perfins. The slogan cancel reads "Remember First Trans Atlantic Flight By British Aviators Capt. John Alcock and Lieut. A. Whitten Brown - the bottom line is indecipherable.
There's also a blue commemorative stamp on the right which I believe is a view of Hamilton, commemorating it's new airport.

A letter inside on Canadian Westinghouse Corp. stationary reads:
June 5, 1929

Greetings by Air Mail from your friends in Hamilton, on hte occasion of the inaugeration (sic) of the Ambitious City's Municipal Airport, June 6th, 1929.
The Air Mail introduces a new era of speed and service.
Daring air pilots today are thrilling the greatest crowd of spectators in Hamilton's history. Air squadrons are fraternizing - Transports of Peace are sweeping with their burdens of freight and passengers through the sky. Cocky pleasure craft are performing stunts like trained gulls, over Hamilton's wonderful inland seaport.
In this hive of industry is located on of the largest manufacturing plants in Canada - the home of all Westinghouse Products.
Here is produced everything electrical from the tiny Mazda lamps to huge generators, ranking in the forefront of the world's electrical engineering achievements.
Here, Westinghouse - Pioneers in Radio, have developed and are now manufacturing the most remarkable Radio instrument the industry has ever known.
Make plenty of room on your desk for the Big News which will be along one of these days - it will make 1929 the most wonderful radio year you have ever know.
Yours very truly,
H. M. Bostwick

The airport was originally built in 1940 as the Mount Hope Airport, a Royal Canadian Air Force base. During World War II, the field hosted two units for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan:

jamesw...
Just wondering if the stamp does not show Hamilton's airport..??

Your stamp is dated 1929 and Hamilton's airport was established in 1940....

P.S.- Very nice cover...

Showed this (via email) to my brother-in-law, who has worked at the Hamilton Westinghouse for almost 40 years. Doesn't know Mr. Botswick, way before his time (though he's going to ask around) but he did sell the Airport Lighting Equipment back in the 70s and 80s. Goes to show, stamp collecting makes the world a smaller and smaller place.

I think the blue stamp, which is a double impression unfortunately, shows Hamilton from on top of the Niagara Escarpment, what they call 'the mountain'. You can make out Lake Ontario in the distance.
