Hi JayT20, welcome.

I see a 1922-3 Ireland regular stamp, no coil (2 flat sides). Is this the wrong picture you had meant to show perhaps?

Coil stamps (produced and sold in a coiled roll) have 2 flat opposite sides, either on the top and bottom or the sides.

This pic is from ebay, these are expensive so these are most likely the ones you are wondering about.



Coils can also be collected in pairs or strips of 4 or more.

The 2d coil thats the one we all want is just like the 1d that puzzler photo has its a vertical coil.
