Now that I think about it, I wonder if Wert has been sitting in front of his computer all day, just waiting for people to answer his survey question so he knows all our ages?

Oh, you wanted my real age?

Per the comment(s) about the younger generation collecting and the internet and games, I think it is time for some smart person(s) to come up with some Facebook or Google Plus (circles) thing that connects all the stamps together.

Kind of making a new way to collect stamps.

As long as I'm at the lower end of your graph you can
do all the analyzing you like!

I've thought about this quite aI few times lately and fear in 20 years there may be no or at least not very many stamp collectors left.

I'd be interested in the starting age, and perhaps re-starting age for collectors. Our current age is perhaps a little biased. This is after all a survey of people on this list, who perhaps have more time for stamp newsgroups in our dotage. I also note that 10 years ago, I would have been in a different category, but no less a collector, which I think skews the age up on the survey results. I started collecting at about 15, stopped in college, dabbled after college until I was about 30 and then started up again in earnest.

BTW - I'm 48 tomorrow. And, THIS IS MY 50th POST!

I think we need many more members to take part in this survey so we can have a better idea. I've filled in mine & I am surprised at the results!
Maybe it just shows the profile of SCF members rather than all stamp collectors e.g. the younger collectors are not taking part in stamp forums?

I checked aged as far as the body is, what about the mind. My wife tells me all the time I will never grow up.

I think after this poll is over, I will create as requested at what age people started collecting stamps...That could open a few eyes.

Just out of curiosity, should we vote on behalf of children?
I have two of my own, two nieces, and the kids in our stamp club that could be added.

I checked the box marked "Geezers".

Thought: The poll actually infers a second question -2) what age group of collects AND post on forums

Maybe the younger set collects stamps, but doesn't join forums.
