Depends on the quality and monetary value of the stamps and the condition too of course.
A low starting price (on
ebay) attracts bidders and is a good idea but start at 99c, no need to go lower for an assortment / mix / mixture / lot. (Use some different words in the title to attract different buyers and searchers.)
Stamps that might be worth something like $5 or more each start at 99c each and be sure to describe them by either catalogue number or better yet a description of what is on the stamps. Hitler, Swastika, Eagle, cats, dogs, the more detail and correct words you use the better the chances of letting the people who are interested see your items.
If you are selling on Bidstart or another site then start higher as you may not get as many bidders or buyers. Even out your chances of getting what your stamps are worth.
When you display the stamps for scans or photos do Not hide them away behind other stamps. Make it so you can see every stamp and see how great they are by having close (or higher resolution) pictures. People like to see what they are buying and they can't see blurry photos or poorly lighted photos or low resolution scans too well.
Breaking your stamps up by era is a good idea too, if you can without too much trouble. As long as you title your listing correctly (look at what others are doing in their titles and if they are selling) and show them in your great scans then that's almost the best you can do.
I always think there are a lot of depends on this and depends on that and, for me, there is. But for you there may not be and doing the basic stuff to describe things and scan them is good enough. Probably is too. I don't think so but then I am a detail nut.
oh, read you post again. Do Not use the word 'unsorted' to describe your stamps. Don't use any negative words. No. Nope. Uh unh. You want the buyer thinking positive, this is great stuff, wish I had it, well I just have to bid a little and I Will have it, ha, it's mine now, I bid, but someone else bid now, well they can't have it, I bid first and it's mine I tell you, mine, . . . and so on, all in a second or two.
Don't use negative words if you can help it.
Say instead perhaps 'nice assortment' 'good selection' 'best collection' and so on. Short and sweet and don't say beautiful or wonderful or such personal opinion type of words. Nice is OK, good is OK, but don't get emotional.
If you have some good stuff and don't mind selling outside the country (some do) then use some German words in the title also so German speakers / collectors can find your item.
10 page or 1 page. Well, the bigger the collection the less per stamp you will get for it. Smaller lots of well displayed and describe stamps is best for most return. It takes more of your time but that's the price, if you want to pay it. If you want the money Now then put it all up together and photo the heck out of it (the more Good photos the more chance of selling) and describe it positively and well.
