I have found so many forgeries in Grandma's collection that I'm afraid to ask. What is your opinion of this one? I read it as a Malta 14 (from Scott Catalog).
While forgeries do exist of this stamp, your stamp looks genuine to me.
You will need to start moving these stamps out of the album, as you can see the rust/foxing starting on the right side. The stamp retail value takes a huge hit. And you don't want any other premium stamps to get damaged. Depending on the exact nature of the stains, you may even have to isolate them if it turns out to be mildew.
Thanks guys. Still in album, but now in protective plastic. Lots of other stamps have the same issue, and dealing with them as I can. Nice to know that non-forgeries exist ...
