I collect snake stamps. I have hundreds of duplicates plus stamps of all animal groups from mammals to insects (plus some plants and flowers) for exchange if interested.

Well in terms of Dinosaurs, nine years isn't even a rounding error now nine millennia, that's a rounding error.

And boy can they get expensive: https://goscf.com/t/90091

Dinosaurs on stamps are very interesting, and an area I have some MNH sets with.

The reason I bought them for my collection? Well, none of us ever saw a dinosaur, obviously, although with my bad back, I feel like one sometimes! Yes, bad joke, I know...

But back to my point, since they are not fully understood, with no way of knowing exactly what they looked like, the artist of each stamp depicting a dinosaur is basically an imaginative work in progress.

So, with many dinosaur issues, you are opening your imagination, along with the artist, as you view the stamps.

I like a set from the Maldives especially - look up Scott # 1727-1742 - set of 16 from 1992.

Stunning to say the least! Sorry for no pics. I do not have a way at this time to provide one.

But yes, a nice topic to collect indeed!

Greg,

Welcome to SCF!

I don't have Scott catalogue but I believe you meant this set isued in 1992. Indeed very attractive set.

Here are two in HR I scanned.

Yes, that is the set! Thanks for posting it. That set is not only my favorite dinosaur set, but one of my favorite period!

The colors really present nice, with an attention to detail. It seems to give you a good idea on what they "look" like!
