Nice pics alanl. Any spare airplane?

I have a problem getting a clear "cropped" (close up) picture when it's time to scan and crop the picture

Question : I scan with 600dpi (more pixels per inch) so I can get a nice and clear result after I crop. The result is not what I expect. The image is not as clear as the one you brought up with "the airplane"

I have an HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-one with an excellent video card (2Go memory). Maybe there is something I'm doing wrong

It's probably not the place for this kind of request, but I take a chance

I have only found one of the airplane so far but I will
keep you in mind.
I scan the whole stamp picture at 600 and the close-up
at 1200. I use a program called ImageMagick for cropping
and adjusting size.
Your pics do seem to be off colour and a bit rough.
My scanner is an HP scanjet 3570c which I got at a thrift
shop for 8 bucks. It came with the wallwart power supply,
usb cable and the CD. And it works!

I'll do that, thanks

beautiful this moon.
I've been looking for her and for the "extra spire" through thousand stamps

If ever you have a double... I guess this is not the place to talk about trading so I won't talk about it.

I`ve only found one moon so far and no spires. I`ve looked at
16,000 sheet stamps. I still have 25,000 off paper to look at.
I think I should get busy!

That's a good one
I'm pretty busy with the Small Queens right now but I'll keep an eye open to my centennials. I have "seriously" sorted them up to the 3 cents and gathered the rest here and there.

Keep on showing your varieties... very interesting.

As soon as I found one, I will post it like this one here :

#459 extended frame lower right

Your scans still don`t look right. I wonder if
you have the brightness set too high? Of course
i`m not an expert. I just plugged my scanner in
and used it.

This one is easy to find. Streaks across the forehead.
Note the right frame line, there`s lines streaking out
there as well.

#459 - Look at the C

1) bottom end of C, hook, looks like a baby bird's open mouth
2) same as 1) plus hook on upper end of C
3) as 1) plus orange dot under the C
4) here's the little devil orange dot under the cancel mark of 3)
