Just got the book in the mail. It is over 400 pages and came shrink wrapped (new). I got the spiral edition so that it can lay flat open. It is already one of my favorite philatelic books that I have.

The stamp on top shows the variety that I posted above.
The stamp below is one I posted on the bottom of page 10.
As you can see the marks are identical.
An object hit the plate twice while it was rotating in the press.
Both are reported varieties.

This one has a mark above the eye.
It is not a reported variety but I have 3 copies
so it is probably a constant.
Sc 544.

Marks on the ANAD of CANADA. The doubling
of the second A is very interesting.
The newsletters suggest this is caused
by plastic flow. Reported variety also
found on the orange perf 12.5x12.
Sc 460 Die I.

Here is an interesting stamp Scott/Unitrade # 458a variety booklet pane that represents the end of over 105 years of Canada line perforated 12 (11.94) postage stamps that started in 1862 with Canada Scott/Unitrade # 15 first found with this perforation in addition to others. Canada line perforated 12 (11.85) is found from 1962 to 1974 ending with Scott/Unitrade # 632. Compare Scott/Unitrade # 400 (perforation 11.94) with Scott/Unitrade # 401 (perforation 11.85). Look at the old looking uneven, ragged and clogged perforations from the old perforating wheels (11.95) in comparison to the new looking, even and clean cut perforations from the new perforating wheels (11.85). As less and less of the old perforating wheels remained, they were used on some booklet pane stamps since they required less perforating wheels because of booklet straight edges.
