Thanks for your input Bujutsu.

What is the colour of the small queen on your cover? The date makes it obviously a 1st Ottawa print. Is it perforated 11.8? I ask because these stamps (in my experience) do not always show their true colour when scanned and also it depends on your monitor. Mine scanned pretty good, and the red orange I see on my monitor is quite similar to the actual stamp. It is definitely perf 11.8.

The scan is close to the colour shown but, the stamp is also a little oxidized and so it is difficult to determine the actual shade.

When I bought the cover, I wasn't thinking of the Small Queen , but was more interested in the postal history and cancel.

I can well understand your interest in the stamp itself.
