Thinking about the many children undoubtedly suffering in Mali now...

Here are images of the three stamps in a set depicting children and the IYC emblem, designed and engraved by Claude Andréotto, and issued by Mali on May 7, 1979 to publicize the International Year of the Child, Scott Nos. 322-24.

Jaegi-chagi is a traditional Korean outdoor game, similar to Hacky Sack. The Jaegi, which looks like a badminton shuttlecock, is an object kept in the air using only the players' feet. In Korea, children usually play alone or with friends during winter, especially on Lunar New Year. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a group of children playing Jaegi-chagi, designed by Lee Hea-ock, printed by photogravure, and issued by (South) Korea on December 1, 1984, Scott No. 1395, Michel No. 1396.

This fairly new stamp from the Netherlands shows the 3 children of the king to be Willem Alexander. The stamp is based on a photo taken by his majesty himself.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a child learning to write, designed and engraved by Knut Løkke-Sørensen, and issued by Norway on June 7, 1989 as one of a set of two stamps commemorating the 250th anniversary of primary schools, Scott No. 845, Facit No. 1062.
