Here is an image of a stamp depicting Lao and African children playing together, and the United Nations emblem, designed by Laotian artist Ky Phung Chaleun, engraved by Jean Miermont, and issued by Laos on May 1, 1971 as one of a set of two stamps publicizing UN General Assembly Resolution No. 2446 declaring the international year against racial discrimination, Scott No. 212.

United Nations Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim officially designated 1974 as World Population Year. Here is an image of a stamp depicting an infant, the globe and the WPY emblem, designed and engraved by Jacques Combet, and issued by Niger on March 4, 1974 to publicize this UN designation, Scott No. 297. Note: In the year I was born, the global population was about 2.5 billion. In 1974, it reached 4 billion. And now it is estimated to be somewhat over 7 billion. Welcome to all of the "newbies!"

Children on a swing, semi-postal (health) stamp designed by S. Hall, engraved and printed by Note Printing Branch, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Melbourne, and issued by New Zealand on October 1, 1942 as one of a set of two similar stamps, Scott No. B20.

Here are images of the two stamps in a set depicting children's games: boys playing marbles, and girls jumping rope, designed and engraved by Jacky Larrivière, and issued by Monaco on May 9, 1989 as Europa stamps, Scott Nos. 1682 & 1683.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a girl looking up while shielding her eyes, and the hearts-and-children logo of Kinderfreunde (Children's Friends), designed by Austrian artist Valentin Wurnitsch (1946- ), combined engraved by Alfred Nefe and photogravure, and issued by Austria on February 23, 1983 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the children's welfare organization, Scott No. 1234. Here are images of the three semi-postal (charity) stamps in a set designed after paintings of children, and issued by Saar on November 15, 1954 to benefit the National Relief Fund, Scott Nos. B101-B103, Michel Nos. 354-56, along with images of the original artworks for at least a couple of them.
