Do you ever have that "gut feeling" about a lot and so bid a little more than normal? This lot definitely falls into that realm. I purchased these stamps for $56.72 thinking I probably had at least that much in face value. I've been grinning ear-to-ear for the last 2 hours as I sorted through an enormous pile of mint Canada stamps.

Auction: http://www.kmphilately.com/index.php?a=2&b=9374381

I have included some of the highlights in photos.

There were 42 unused Canada 85-86 (1898 "x-mas" stamp) ranging from no-gum to Mint Never Hinged. The 15 stamps on the left are all Never Hinged stamps. Cat value $2000+

This next photo is of misc mint and mint never hinged stamps from all over the classic era. Highlights include 2x #92 (Mint Hinged) one is a VF plate # single ($300); a strip of 4, 1c coils (#160 Fine MNH) value ~$100+; a gorgeous 226 (XF Mint Never Hinged) with selvage cat $67.50; and various KGV "Admirals" including coils. There's more than $1000 cat value on this page alone.

Misc mint blocks, plate blocks, and items of interest.

About half of the items I received are not pictured. Overall, I'm quite pleased

Brian

Fantastic Rileysan

As they say, you usually should go by your gut feelings and they proved right for you.

I am real glad that you got them for such a low price too. I too have bought from some of the Ian Kimmerly Auction house and had somne good buys but not as proportionately high as yours. Congratulations.

Well done Riley.
Haven't been on KMP for a while. You never know what you'll find. I've purchased from Marquis before as well. He's got good quality merchandise.

i have dealt with Karl Marquis and found that his auction lots are quite reasonable.

One small used Canada collection I bought just a few years ago for $8.00 and change had a 50 cents Lumbering O.H.M.S. overprint in it.
