Olympian Print Album

hello just found this site so far it is really helpfull.
i am a 56 canadian close to his pension and I restart my collection from where I was young.the thing is I always continue to accumulate but they are all in enveloppe.i am thinking of buying a new album to replace my old senior stateman does anyone know the olympian ,it seen to be the bigger available .i known scoot or minkus are better but they are to expense and I just want enjoy to mount my collection together are they another solution in album.

The Olympian is a nice album, but I think it is overpriced as it is only a 2 post binding and the binder is very cheaply made. You could upgrade your old Senior Statesman to a new Harris Statesman set for much less money, and you have the option to upgrade to nice leather Heirloom binders. by the way I have may be 25000 stamps to put together and that exclude canada and usa that I have separate album and I look at the new harris stateman and I thinks it is too small

One important thing to remember is that no matter how large your album is, unless you buy the huge Scott Woldwide set that is around $14,000.00 and has a space for EVERY stamp in the world, you will never have an illustrated spot for every one of YOUR stamps. I have put nearly 15,000 stamps into a worldwide album that was supposed to hold 18000 stamps and have 14000 images, and I have actually used less than 25% of the actual spaces shown with images. You can save a lot of money by using some blank pages to add spaces for the ones you don't have, rather than spending close to $1000.00 to find out that there are not spaces for the stamps that you actually own. There are currently over 700,000 possible stamps in the world, so an album with even 30,000 spaces is a very small sampling of the total that are out there.

I looked at the 21 Century Album when I was looking for my world album, and it was actually in my final 3 choices. I found one major flaw with it though, it has a wrap around piece on the binder with a velcro closure system which is designed to elminiate a slip case. When the binder is open, this extra piece sticks out beside the binder and will not lay flat, so if you are working with your right hand, you are constantly trying to work over that thing. The velcro is constantly snagging on your clothes as well. I guess you could use the pages as they are quite nice, but the binder was not thought through very well from the standpoint of actually adding stamps to the album easily. I was lucky enough to have a stamp shop in the city that had most of the albums I was looking at in stock, so I was actually able to play with them all before I chose one.

thanks a lot for this clue cause I was starting to thing this is the best binder now I have to rething all over .but do you know if the page before 1980 are pretty complete ( I mean it is the same as my senior stateman 1973)i known they have 1012 pages probably 506 both side

They are about as complete as my old 1977 Statesman Worldwide album is. There are lots of images but also lots of blank spaces, and they only cover the main stamp issues. There are only a few spaces for colour variations, and barely any for back of book or rare stamps. You can see the 21 Century pages at the link below.

Thank you all for your information re The Olympian. I asked about the albums since there really are no reviews online. With so little out there in world.wide albums, I thought there would be more info referring to a 5 Volume set. Thanks for all the input. It has been very helpful.
