Hello, I recently acquired a brand new older style Stanley Gibbons Color Key. It's really fun to use and I really like it but is there a table or some sort of "method"/"rule of thumb" to make it work with the Scott's Catalogs color descriptions?

I guess what I'm asking is if it can be used or is it similar or totally way off base to be utilized with United States stamps in combination with the Scott catalog?

* This is my very first color key and I got it for free so I can't complain about that but if it won't work with my collecting needs then no use fiddling with it so I need to ask the pro's (you all).

* Which one works best for the Scott catalog descriptions?

* Any help would be great at this point and REALLY appreciated. Thank you for your time. -Jeff
