Recent high values in Australian stamps "used" in any form are extremely hard to get and commonly sell for 150% face value.

There is tons of junk CTO stamps from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s from just about the whole of the world.

Australia mint stamps from the 70s 80s 90s abound in Australian auctions for mailing and sell at 70% face value for letter rate stamps. High value stamps sell closer to face value.

All because of the collapse of our hobby from its dazzling heights.

Stamping changes from country to country and era to era and that is the fascinating part to our hobby.

After much thought about "Used CTO" as a descriptive term and finding it is a misleading way to describe a stamp for many reasons. Have found that "used with gum" a far better way to describe the stamp but it takes up to much room in the title.

So I have!
Used CTO.
Used with gum.
U has gum.

Would you understand easier if I was to describe the stamp as "U has gum".
