Here's a scan of my ˝d shades next to my other turquoise-blue. Both turquoise-blue stamps are used but are the same shade and were obtained at different times. Could it be that there exists a colour changeling like the victorian ˝d blue-green of 1900 although I can find no mention of one. |

Your posting of your shades is a perfect example of how different scanners/monitors/people "see" colors. Both are the blue-green variety yet show up as completely different shades... my blue-green on the left and yours on the right. Incidentally, Stanley Gibbons lists 18 different shades for this stamp. Perhaps the fact that you say your stamps are both used means they might have been subject to water, chemical or other substance contact in their life. |

Hello all, I am working on a project, and I need to know how many stamps like this ones were needed to send a postcard to France ? Was it more expensive than to send it to Great Britain ? Thank you very much ! |

These stamps would have been valid for postage from their printing date of around 1912 right up to decimalization date of 1971... so the answer would vary depending on the date that interests you. |

![]() hi I have recently purchased some deep green halfpenny stamps and noticed one seems to have a printing error, as you can see the far left stamp george seems to have a longer beard. does this make this stamp rare? thankyou |

Brucydragon08, welcome to this forum! You should really post a better scan, but my first impression is that someone did not have much to do that day!

Much clearer now! It almost looks as if somebody tried to make him look like Satan. Look at the horn (?) on his forehead.
