Hi,

I'm a newbie to this forum!

I'm wondering if anyone knows why there are so many varieties (at least 3 that I have found so far) as for this 1969 siamese issue of Ajman & Manama imperf s/s ? Do you think any of them are reprints, or worse, cinderellas ?

We know that Scott does not list Ajman/Mamana stamps because it judges that their actual postage use is too limited compared to the actual print quantity. is it possible that these stamps whose printing license were outsourced to a 3rd party were reprinted with varieties (with english to appeal to a broader audience of collectors) to generate more income?

1st variety: arabic in margin
2nd variety: english in margin, written "CHAMPIONS OF SPORT"
3rd variety (picture not shown): english in margin, written the pilot's name

Thanks buddies!

Hi ricecooker, welcome to SCF! By "siamese", do you mean se-tenant?

Hi scifi7,

Thanks for the precision! Siamese stamps are by definition "se-tenant stamps from different countries", so se-tenant is redundant. I just wanted to distinguish from the siamese cat ~ ^^

Do you think these so-called varieties are actually parts of a bigger imperf sheet? I see the margins are sometimes at the top, sometimes at the bottom.

Any chance I could find info as to whether these imperf souvenir sheets were originally sold as already separated or part of a bigger imperf. uncut sheet.
